Kuukauden vapaaehtoinen: Taru Siponmaa

Seura palkitsee tänä vuonna kuukausittain kuukauden vapaaehtoisen, joka on tehnyt pyyteettömästi töitä seuran eteen. Vapaaehtoiset ovat merkittävässä ja ratkaisevassa osassa, jotta seuran toiminnot pyörivät parhaalla mahdollisella tavalla. Kiitos kaikille vapaaehtoisille tekemästänne tärkeästä työstä seuran ja pelaajien eteen.

Kuukauden vapaaehtoisena palkitaan Taru Siponmaa, sillä hän toimii aktiivisesti P2015 -joukkueen valmentajana. Taru on sitoutunut, läsnä, ottaa vastuuta ja auttaa muitakin joukkueita, jos apua tarvitaan. Kiitos Taru!

Mikä on roolisi EBK:ssa?

Toimin tällä hetkellä 2015-syntyneiden poikien kilparyhmän valmentajana.

Kauanko olet toiminut EBK:ssa vapaaehtoisena ja missä joukkueissa?

Olen toiminut EBK:ssa vapaaehtoisena n. 9 vuotta. Vuosina 2017-2022 toimin valmentajana T11-12-joukkueessa, 2022 siirryin P15-joukkueeseen valmentajaksi, missä toimin edelleen. Toimin myös parisen vuotta P12-poikien haasteryhmän joukkueenjohtajana.

Mikä on parasta vapaaehtoisena toimimisessa seurassa?

Parasta on tietenkin nähdä lasten ilo sekä heidän kasvunsa ja kehityksensä jalkapallon parissa. Koen tärkeäksi olla osana tätä yhteisöä pitämässä Keski-Espoota ja EBK:ta kaikille turvallisena ympäristönä harrastaa ja liikkua.

Pelasin itsekin EBK:ssa 6-vuotiaasta 18-vuotiaaksi saakka, joten tiedän miten suuri merkitys seuralla ja sen toimijoilla voi olla, sekä miten tärkeitä muistoja harrastuksen kautta voi luoda.

Koen merkitykselliseksi saada yhtenä valmentajista toimia kasvattajana opettaen lapsille ja nuorille jalkapallotaitojen lisäksi elämässä tarvittavia muitakin supertärkeitä taitoja, jotka toivottavasti kantavat mukana pitkälle aikuisuuteen asti.💙⚽

Bonuksena mahtavaa valmentamisessa on myös mahdollisuus osallistua tänä vuonna alkaneisiin toimihenkilöfutistreeneihin, missä nähdään myös aikuisten riemua ja parannetaan yhteisöllisyyttä. 😆

Volunteer of the Month: Taru Siponmaa

This year, the club will reward a Volunteer of the Month—someone who has selflessly contributed to the club’s activities. Volunteers play a significant role in ensuring that everything in the club runs smoothly. Thank you to all our volunteers for the important work you do for the club and our players.

The Volunteer of the Month award goes to Taru Siponmaa, who works actively as a coach for the P2015 team. Taru is committed, present, takes responsibility, and helps other teams whenever needed. Thank you, Taru!

We asked Taru about the different ways she has been involved in the club and what she enjoys most about volunteering, read her answers below:

What is your role at EBK?
I currently work as a coach for the competitive group of boys born in 2015.

How long have you been volunteering at EBK and with which teams?
I have been a volunteer at EBK for about 9 years. From 2017 to 2022, I worked as a coach for the T11–12 team. In 2022, I moved to the P15 team as a coach, where I still continue. I also worked for about two years as a team manager for the P12 boys’ challenge group.

What is the best part about volunteering in the club?
The best part is, of course, seeing the joy of the children, as well as their growth and development through football. I feel it is important to be part of this community in helping keep Central Espoo and EBK a safe environment for everyone to enjoy sports and be active.

I also played at EBK myself from the age of 6 to 18, so I know how significant the club and its people can be, and how important the memories created through this hobby can be.

I find it meaningful, as one of the coaches, to act as an educator—teaching children and young people not only football skills but also other essential life skills that will hopefully carry them far into adulthood. 💙⚽

As a bonus, one of the great things about coaching is also the opportunity to participate in the staff football training sessions that started this year, where you can see adults enjoying themselves and also strengthen the sense of community. 😆
